Story
VON, a name that preceded Landsberg in Lara’s family lineage, was a legacy she felt deeply compelled to reignite. By founding her jewellery brand, VON ARA, she brought history into her own life, fusing it with personal significance, ‘ARA,’ both an abbreviation of her name and the name of one of her beloved kittens.

Meet our Founder, Lara Landsberg
Lara Landsberg is a jewellery artist from Cape Town, South Africa. She completed her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Stellenbosch University, where she specialised in Creative Jewellery Design and Manufacture.
During her tertiary studies, Lara explored a range of research topics and brought them to life through unique, thought-provoking pieces designed to evoke emotion. Through this process, she developed her distinct style and realised her deeper purpose: to create with meaning, so that her pieces of jewellery become works of art—embedded with depth and purpose, telling a story, and resonating beyond aesthetics.
Lara uses her creative passion as an outlet, aligning her design and manufacturing process with her personal journey. Her jewellery becomes a visual diary, unfolding stories, emotions, and significant moments. While her work carries her own meaning and associations, she intentionally leaves it open-ended, inviting others to form their own emotional connection and relationship with each piece.
