These striking dress rings are the very definition of statement elegance—crafted to elevate any ensemble with effortless sophistication.

When Susan approached us with this vision in mind, the creative journey was nothing short of joyful. Together, we brought to life two truly captivating designs.

For this exquisite pair of Wedding Rings, we immersed ourselves in the art of personalisation.

Each ring holds a tender narrative—engraved with their anniversary date and the words “Forever” and “Always”, quietly echoing their promise.

VON ARA deeply cherished the creation of this piece—there’s a certain magic in crafting designs that embody timeless elegance.

This 18ct White Gold halo ring, sparkling with radiant Moissanites, captures a joy that shimmers as brightly as the piece itself—classic, captivating, and full of light.

VON ARA made a striking impression at Milano Jewellery Week 2023, unveiling two luminous, boundary-pushing pieces that redefined jewellery as wearable art — bold, unapologetic, and unforgettable.

Lara exhibited alongside six fellow postgraduate artists and three esteemed lecturers from Stellenbosch University in a beautifully curated exhibition at the historic Oude Leeskamer Gallery in Stellenbosch, Cape Town. This thought-provoking showcase delved into the complex tensions between socio-political and cultural identities, creative disciplines, and the negotiation of contested spaces.

With quiet determination, Lara submitted select pieces from her MAVA body of work to the South African Contemporary Jewellery Week Awards, held at the University of Johannesburg in Gauteng. To her deep gratitude and surprise, she was honoured with the Professional Category Award — a moment that not only affirmed her creative journey, but also helped lay the foundations for her at-home jewellery studio, where the prize funds were lovingly invested in essential equipment. A milestone remembered with heartfelt appreciation.

Lara concluded her tertiary studies at Stellenbosch University with the debut of her MAVA exhibition at the renowned GUS Gallery in Stellenbosch, Cape Town — a culmination of passion, exploration, and artistic growth. Today, select pieces from that formative body of work proudly live on as part of the VON ARA collection, carrying forward the spirit of their original showcase.

To explore the full journey and view the complete portfolio of showcased works, visit the MAVA Portfolio section on our website — where each piece tells its own story.

Amid the quiet intensity of the COVID pandemic, Lara penned a deeply reflective article for Garland Magazine, thoughtfully unpacking her MAVA thesis and its transformation into tangible expressions through art jewellery.

She later joined the Garland “Ring Around” Online Seminar, where she further explored the themes of the article — sharing insight, vulnerability, and the profound connection between research, identity, and art making.
